My First Day on the Job

It was just like any other job at first. I showed up on day one and met my new coworkers, was introduced to my collection of bosses and spent the better part of the day trying to find the various places where I would spend my days wasting my time – the bathroom, breakroom, empty hallways, other peoples’ desks. But, then they threw my first project at me and I remembered that I was not in fact a Powerpoint Designer as I had led them to believe.

Honestly, I figured Powerpoint Templates could not be all that hard to put together. I had worked with the program before in college and High School and had even tossed out my share of Powerpoint tips to my peers, but that didn’t do me any good as I sat there staring blankly at the screen on which a series of Powerpoint popup started appearing and my boss said “go to, son.” That was it. I spent the rest of the day fervently researching the program, trying to figure out all the intricacies I’d never realize I didn’t know. Suffice it to say, I didn’t last very long at that job.
