Gone are the days of tattoos being synonymous with criminality and antisocial behaviors. In a crowd of thousands, one is bound to see tasteful butterfly tattoos on mothers, kindergarten teachers, businesswomen and other unassuming individuals of the female persuasion. A tattoo can have very many different meanings for the women who wear them. While some feel sexier with a tattoo, others feel they are more spiritual or rebellious. Celebrities and well known personalities are a large inspiration not only for certain tattoo designs on women but their placement as well. However, in studies of data on internet searches for the term tattoos, it is largely believed that women do more searching than men.
Tattoos are largely popular for women because there are no hard and fast rules to conform to. While some would assume that delicate flowers and simple designs are the main choice of women, it is tribal and Celtic tattoos that tend to rank quite high in popularity. Though few women opt for such things as intimidating skull tattoos, there is still an element that allows them to travel outside the norms and take on extremely colorful and creative designs. A woman with tattoos is a trend that is not expected to slow down anytime soon.
