I’m having a hard time deciding what to get my sister for a wedding gift.  Part of the problem is that she really isn’t talking to me — we haven’t spoken much since she pushed me out of her wedding last summer.

So what do you get as a gift for someone who forced you out of their wedding and doesn’t talk to you anymore?

My mom and I thought of getting her a nice frame for a wedding portrait, but unfortunately my mom picked out a frame that was clearly a diploma frame.  I told her under no circumstances can we give her that, no matter how she has treated me.

So out of desperation, I started looking for ideas online — and I came across a list of wedding gift ideas.  Once of the suggestions was to frame the couple’s wedding invitation in a really nice frame.  I really like that idea — it’s creative enough to make me feel I did something unique for her, and inexpensive enough that I can afford it.  It also will mean a lot to her without having to mean a lot to me, which is important because I still feel a little resentful about what she did to me.

I think framing the wedding invitation is a great idea for a wedding gift.  What do you think?
