What Couples Fight About When Buying a Home

Buying a home is a difficult endeavor. It requires a lot of decision-making. It can involveĀ a lot of stress. And if you’re trying to do this all with a spouse then it can involve a lot of fighting.
Here’s a look at the most common things that couples fight about when trying to buy a home together:
- Cost. The single biggest thing that couples fight about is money so it’s no surprise that the cost of the home is a major cause for battle.
- Size. Couples often want different things in terms of number of bedrooms, total square footage and yard size.
- Location. The couple may agree that they’re going to look at Tampa real estate but may fight about which neighborhoods to look at. Or they may not even be able to agree that they both want to live in Florida at all.
- Realtors. A surprising number of couples fight about which real estate agent to choose. You’d be shocked at how common it is for one person to want a specific Tampa FL realtor and the other to want someone different.
- Timing. Couples also fight about when the right time to buy a home is. That’s especially true right now when none of us is quite sure whether home prices are going to rise soon or stay leveled out.
Couples might fight about other things as well but these are the most common issues that come up when buying a home together.
