Sure, there is some outlay for materials to get everything setup, but it has proven itself time and time again to increase my sales, so I have no complaints.

I have been thinking about starting a collection. I used to really turn my nose up at collectors. However I am starting to gain an appreciation for what the art of collecting is all about. The thing that I’m thinking about collecting is lights.

I realize that collecting lights is a little bit unusual. However there is something that I have noticed over the years; I am drawn to the different lights that are used in different parts of the world. Whenever I travel, I find myself looking at light fixtures in hotels, restaurants and stores in my destination. Every place has different lighting. This could be something I collect on my travels to remind me all of the amazing places that I have been.

I got this idea because I couldn’t resist buying a new lamp the last time that I was in New York. There was an Elk Lighting lamp in my hotel room that I fell in love with. I actually saw the same lamp at a store when I was browsing. It seemed perfectly right to buy the lamp. This got me thinking about collecting lamps. I’m even wondering if I can use world imports lighting to pick up some lamps from places I’ve already been. The only thing I’m not sure about is whether I’ll have enough room for all of the lights that I might buy!
