Successful Craft Fair Sales

pottery Even though many people would never consider making money by selling crafts, it is certainly a lucrative industry.  It can be a wonderful feeling to make money doing something that you love, and selling crafts are certainly one way to do it.

But the key to actually succeeding at selling those items that you made is based on two things: location and presentation.

Now the location can make or break you when it comes to sales.  For example, if you are to go to a craft fair where there is little to no traffic, then you will not be able to sell anything.  On the other hand, high traffic craft fairs can make all the difference – the more people that stop at your table, the more likely you are to generate sales.

The one thing that most people overlook is the presentation.  Just throwing your wares on the table does not entice someone to come over and look, rather you should try to have a professional display set up.  I like to use banner stands right beside my trade show booth to catch the eye of those passing by and draw them closer to my table.

Sure, there is some outlay for materials to get everything setup, but it has proven itself time and time again to increase my sales, so I have no complaints.
