My town needs EZ-Screen

The city council where I live recently passed rulings that will allow for a private firm to come in and remove a visual eye sore that’s been a part of the town for over 80 years. You see, this entire area has a history of being a mining center. For a lot of years, copper was the number 1 metal extracted.

Since the early 20th century, a number of other materials have been pulled out of the hills and surrounding areas. A by product of all that mining was the creation of Slag Mountain; a 4 story tall refuse dump that has been in the central part of town for decades.

ez-screen In addition to using a compost screen, the city has attempted to remove parts of the mountain, but to no avail. Now a new company has come in and indicates there are still valuable materials in that slag. From all that I’ve read about screening machines, I am betting this new firm is going to have one or more of the impressive screening machines from EZ Screen.

Hopefully they do, and we can be rid of this eye sore once and for all. I would rather see a shopping mall or a nice community park than the giant black pile of cruddy rocks.
